The Snug (East Afton Farm)
A couples' retreat in the heart of the Isle of Wight countryside
Sleeps 2 • Spacious al-fresco area • Dog friendly (surcharge applies)
The Snug at our East Afton Farm suits those who find romance in rare places. A gentle walk through unspoiled fields. A view that stops you in your tracks. A compact cabin, built for two and nestled in a countryside setting where stunning sunsets are all but guaranteed. Here at the Snug, you can have your fill of all three. For couples seeking solitude and adventure, it's ideal.
The Snug is located on our neighbouring East Afton Farm, so it's perfect for guests attending weddings at East Afton Farmhouse. The venue is only a short stroll from the accommodation.
One small step from the Great Outdoors.
Not too big and not too small, the Snug is just right for mini-breakers who want nature on their doorstep. That's why we've paid special attention to the private al-fresco space, which comes complete with a raised decking area, BBQ and picnic bench. The interior is cosy and unfussy, yet furnished with little luxuries that make it feel more special than your typical glamping setup. Think solar electricity, a private ensuite shower room and a modern fitted kitchen.
How will you make the most of it? We'd suggest a sunshine-fuelled BBQ cookout for two (we provide charcoal, firelighters and matches). Or, perhaps, a day at the beach, followed by a spot of sunset-gazing. And, of course, there's nothing wrong with staying in, cuddling up and taking the rare chance to revel in each other's company.
On-site adventures, food and fun.
At Tapnell Farm, we're passionate about great fun, great food and the Great Outdoors. That's why we've made sure to keep all our attractions within easy reach. From the Snug, you can take a leisurely 30-minute stroll (or two-minute drive) and find yourself right at the heart of our main activity hub.
Here, there's always something new to try. How about a couple's padel tennis tournament? Or a crash course in air rifle shooting, guided by experienced instructors? Or, if you're hungry, you can head to The Cow – our award-winning restaurant – and enjoy some of the Island's finest farm-fresh, locally sourced delicacies.
An Island worth exploring.
Love a good view? Head to Tennyson Down for a sweeping perspective across the English Channel and down to the iconic Needles. Want thrills and adventure? There's surfing at Compton Bay and bodyboarding at Colwell. Or, for a quieter couple's day out, visit Yarmouth and spend a lazy afternoon exploring its independent shops and cobbled streets. There's something on the Island to suit every mood and everybody.
