Football golf and Frisbee golf at Tapnell Farm

An open-air kickabout with a difference

Suitable for all ages • Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult

Football golf and Frisbee golf are like no sports you've ever played before. They're marvellous mash-ups, combining the rules of miniature golf with the fast-paced fun of an open-air kickabout or game of Frisbee. It's good, honest, gizmo-free entertainment for the whole family – with amazing countryside views to boot.

The challenge: navigate your ball or Frisbee past outdoor obstacles as you aim to sink 18 holes in as few tries as possible. Will you score a goal in one?

How it works

Football golf and Frisbee golf are easy to learn, no matter your age. Like football, they're beginner-friendly. Like golf, they're never too rough. And with gorgeous Island views stretching out in all directions, they're a great excuse to park the smartphone and reconnect with the Great Outdoors.

How it works is simple. Your group takes turns kicking a ball or throwing a frisbee. The aim is to get it into the hole in as few goes as possible.

For extra challenge, some holes have special rules (keep an eye out for the signs). There are 18 holes in all, so you can expect lots of variety and at least an hour of fun.

Those are the basic rules. You can download the full rules of play here.

Important safety rules

DO watch out for passing horses. There is a public right-of-way next to the court. You must stop play immediately if you're nearby and spot a horse and rider. You can start again once they've safely passed by.
DO be mindful of your surroundings. Before you take your shot, watch for other players and passing traffic.
DO play fair in large groups. If you see a smaller group behind, let them play through.
DO take extra care in wet and windy conditions. The ground is slippery when wet (including the AstroTurf tee-off areas).
DO wear a top at all times, even if the weather's hot.
DON'T drop-kick the ball. Take all shots from floor level when the ball is stationary.
DON'T take food or drink onto the course.
DON'T remove flags or baskets from the holes.

What visitors say

  Loved it here!

So much to do for the kids. Football golf was a huge success with my footie crazy boys. The animal park was great, we especially loved feeding the wallabies.

A great day out for kids of all ages

We only spent the afternoon here and with only one 5 year old that was fine. But with more kids or older ones I think you could easily spend the whole day here.

An amazing time had by all

Christmas 2025 Tapnell farm was a magical experience. They really exceeded expectations this year. Great value for money. Great activities,  my granddaughter age 8, really believed she was in the Northpole, and when the snow came down it brought such joy to my granddaughter. Santa and Mrs clauses were the best. The elfs were fun and helpful.

Well done Tapnell farm

  Absolutely impeccable stay!

I stayed in the module log cabin and everything was perfect — exactly as described on the booking website. The place was also very dog friendly, which made the trip even better. I just have to make a special mention of how impressive the fridge was in the accommodation — it really exceeded expectations. Highly recommend!

  Fantastic day out for kids/family

Loads to do both indoors and out! A lovely coffee/cake selection including GF options!!

Sandwiches and meals available as well although we took a packed lunch which we could eat either outside or in the huge barn area (which includes a play area/go kart track!)
